1,771 days ago, when I joined Toastmasters International, I never imagined introducing myself this way.

Today, as I hold this DTM plaque, I’m reminded of the journey it represents: a journey of perseverance, commitment, and a relentless pursuit of knowledge.

The Distinguished Toasmasters (DTM) is the highest award a member of Toastmasters International can receive, recognizing both communication and leadership skills. As per one article found on Goolge, less than 1% of all Toastmasters ever earn the DTM, which makes this achievement even more meaningful to me. But I realize that true leadership isn’t about accolades. It’s about the impact you make and the growth you experience. It’s about those quiet moments of reflection, staying true to your values, and the unwavering desire to make a difference.

A big thanks to all the mentors and friends who supported me on this journey especially DTM Samuel Sham, DTM Ben Melaka , DTM Fauziah Bibi Abdul Aziz , DTM Patricia Yap , DTM Cosy Amar , DTM Cecelia Kok , Ralph Menon , DTM Huei Ying, TM Hanson Lau , TM Santhy Dewi Pillai,, DTM Ramdas Nayar and DTM Paul Lim , without you all wont got the inspiration to achieve this one…

I dont know whether I should feel proud of myself, feel the burden of responsibility of being a DTM or just keep on inspiring young ones just like how these people inspired me 🙏🙏🙏🙏…and special Thanks to my friends on FB, for your love and respect , stay blessed. Thank you YMCA KL Toastmasters Club & District 51, Toastmasters International
