I’m Nabeel Tirmazi, a media strategist and AI governance advisor helping Asia-Pacific broadcasters, INGOs, and public institutions navigate the intersection of emerging technology and purposeful communication.

If you lead communications, policy, or learning & development at a public broadcaster or development organisation in Asia-Pacific, you are exactly who I work with.

Over 26 years, my journey has taken me from national newsrooms to the boardrooms of intergovernmental agencies, always anchored to one question: How do we use technology to amplify humanity, rather than replace it?

What I Do

Based in Kuala Lumpur, I serve as a bridge between traditional broadcasting wisdom and the frontier of AI innovation. My work is not just about “media training”. It is about architecting the governance frameworks and cultural intelligence that allow institutions to survive and thrive in a digital-first world.

My advisory work and training programs (all designed to meet HRD Corp/HRDF standards) are built around three pillars:

  • Responsible AI Integration: Helping newsrooms reduce ethical risk exposure while building governance guardrails for automated content workflows, so speed and accountability coexist.
  • Systems Resilience: Leading institutions through digital transitions, crisis communication, and ISO-compliant remote workflows, turning disruption into a competitive advantage.
  • Cultural Intelligence: Navigating the complex intersection of policy, diplomacy, and multicultural leadership, because innovation without cultural context is a liability.

Global Reach. Real Impact.

I have had the privilege of collaborating with UNESCO, UNDP, and UNICEF to strengthen public service media across 26+ countries, from the ASEAN nations to the Pacific SIDS. I believe media is a tool for social cohesion, and my work focuses on positioning institutions as trusted voices in an age of disinformation.

As a Top 30 LinkedIn Voice on Cultural Competency, I bring a researcher’s rigor and a practitioner’s empathy to cross-border collaboration. I don’t just deliver projects. I build the institutional capacity needed for long-term impact.

Beyond the Boardroom

I am a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) and a lifelong visual storyteller. My work as a photographer across 16+ countries has taught me that effective communication begins with observation. Whether I am architecting a media policy or capturing a moment on film, my philosophy remains the same: Leadership is the art of narrative curation.
