Some rooms remind you why mentoring matters.

I had the pleasure of joining The Effective Speaker Series at Sunway University Malaysia as a facilitator and mentor, working with more than 200 Malaysian students on public speaking, impromptu communication, on-camera presence, and crisis communication.

What stood out was not only their energy, but their willingness to try, reflect, and improve in real time. That is where confidence starts.

We worked on practical communication skills: how to structure a clear message, how to respond under pressure, how to speak with presence, and how to stay composed when the situation is sensitive or uncertain.

For me, this was more than a speaking session. It was a reminder that young people do not lack talent. Many simply need the right space, honest feedback, and mentors who take their growth seriously.

I am grateful to YMCA KL Toastmasters Club for the trust placed in me as elected President, and to the members who represented the club with commitment and professionalism.

Special thanks to DTM Benny Chia and DTM Samuel C Sham for making this opportunity possible.

Public speaking is not just about standing on a stage. It is about learning how to think clearly, speak responsibly, and carry yourself with confidence when it matters.
