Training that does not survive contact with a newsroom is not a training problem. It is a design problem, usually caused by targeting the wrong layer of an organisation. Leadership attends the strategy session. Technical staff attend the tool workshop. Nobody runs the session that connects the two, and the capability gap that caused the original request stays exactly where it was.
Training design here is built from 137+ programmes delivered across 41+ countries, spanning Laos, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India, and grounded in 8.5 years managing training architecture across 26 member states at AIBD. Programmes are built to transfer capability that holds after the trainer leaves, not to complete a curriculum.
What This Covers
Blended learning and curriculum design. Structured learning pathways combining facilitated sessions, applied exercises, and follow-through assessment, built around how broadcasting organisations actually operate rather than a generic corporate training template.
Newsroom and editorial training. Programmes covering editorial workflow, digital transformation, and AI literacy for editorial teams, developed from direct newsroom production experience rather than an external theoretical framework.
Training needs appraisal. Diagnostic assessment of where a training gap actually sits within an organisation, using the Media Organisation Training Appraisal Framework (MOTAF), a workforce and training appraisal methodology built specifically for media organisations.
Training of trainers. Building internal training capability inside an institution so capacity development does not remain permanently dependent on external delivery.
Certification pathway design. Structuring training programmes toward recognised certification outcomes, including alignment with Malaysian HRD Corp claimable training requirements where relevant.
Delivery Approach
Training programmes are scoped against a specific organisational capability gap identified through a structured needs appraisal, not delivered as a standard workshop package. Where an organisation has already piloted AI tools without a training pathway behind them, delivery is sequenced to close that gap directly rather than layering a generic AI literacy session on top of an unresolved governance problem.
Who This Is For
Regional broadcasters and media institutions across Asia-Pacific building internal training capacity. Malaysian organisations seeking HRD Corp claimable training aligned with workforce development outcomes. UN agencies and development organisations commissioning training-of-trainers systems as part of a wider capacity programme.
